We built ogsm.io to help small business owners think more clearly about their marketing. Part of earning your trust is being straightforward about how we handle your information. Here's the full picture.

what we collect

When you use ogsm.io, we collect your first name, your email address, and the conversation you have with our strategy assistant. This includes your answers to our questions and the one-page OGSM strategy we generate for you.

We also collect basic technical data that comes with any web request — things like your IP address, browser type, and the time of your visit. We don't use tracking cookies or any third-party analytics tools.

how we use it

Your name and email are used to personalise your strategy session and to send you your completed OGSM. If you opted in, we may send occasional follow-up emails with helpful resources — but only with your explicit consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Your conversation data is used solely to generate your strategy. We may review anonymised, aggregate patterns (like which industries use the tool most) to improve the product, but we will never look at or share your individual business details.

where your data lives

All data is stored on our own private server infrastructure. Your information is not sent to any third-party storage services. The only external service involved is the AI that powers your strategy conversation — we use Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. Your conversation is sent to Anthropic's API for processing, but Anthropic does not store or train on data sent through their API.

how we protect it

All connections to ogsm.io are encrypted using SSL/TLS (the padlock in your browser). Your data is stored in a secured database on a private server with restricted access. Only the site operator has access to the server and database.

how long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as it's useful to you — so you can come back and access your strategy. If you'd like your data deleted at any time, just email us and we'll remove everything within 30 days.

your rights

You have the right to ask us what data we hold about you, request a copy of it, ask us to correct anything that's wrong, or ask us to delete it entirely. We'll always respond within 30 days.

If you're in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to object to processing. We respect all of these.

cookies

We use session storage (similar to cookies but more temporary) to keep your strategy session running while you're on the site. This data is automatically cleared when you close your browser tab. We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any third-party analytics.

If we make meaningful changes to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and note the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll do our best to let you know by email.
